Wallpapering Without Panic — Yes, You Can Do This

Putting up wallpaper can feel a bit scary. You expect everything to go wrong — bubbles, crooked lines, total chaos… But then suddenly you’re standing there thinking: “Wait… was that it?”
I usually say wallpapering is 50% preparation, 30% patience, and 20% coffee.
Before You Start
The most important part actually isn’t the wallpaper — it’s the preparation.
Here are my simple steps:
Make sure the wall is smooth and clean
Remove old nails and bumps
Wipe down the wall (dust is wallpaper’s worst enemy)
Measure your wall (yes… I know… but it saves a lot of frustration later)
When You Start Wallpapering
Now comes the fun part.
Always start from a corner or from the center
Use a level (or trust your eye a little… I won’t judge)
Smooth out bubbles from the center and outward
And remember to breathe… it’s not rocket science
And here’s the thing. Small mistakes almost never show once you’re done. It’s true.
My Best Tip
Don’t stand too close when you look at the result. Leave the room. Come back.
Suddenly, it feels like a completely new space. And that tiny bubble? Only you will notice it.
And Most Important
Wallpapering should be fun. A little crooked? Charming. A little bold? Even better.
Because sometimes, that’s what makes a room feel personal.
And when you’re finished, grab a coffee, lean back, and think: “I actually did this myself.”
