Vintage Swedish Designer Candle Holder by Stig Johansson – Smålandsslöjd, 1970s

A wonderfully sculptural piece of 1970s Swedish design.

This striking three-arm candle holder was designed by Swedish designer Stig Johansson for Smålandsslöjd in Värnamo, Sweden.

Crafted in solid pine, its sweeping, almost sculptural silhouette is built around two bold curved forms, beautifully showcasing the natural grain and warm honey tones of the wood. Three turned candle cups complete the design, giving the piece a wonderfully playful Scandinavian modern character.

It is equally beautiful displayed simply as a wooden sculpture — one of those vintage pieces that looks different from every angle.

Condition

Good vintage condition with natural signs of age and previous use, including small marks and variations in the wood.

Please note that the original metal candle insert remains in the centre holder, while the two outer holders are missing their metal inserts. The wooden candle holders themselves are intact. This is clearly shown in the photographs and has been taken into account in the price.
